Event Overview
The Shea Family Foundation, along with REELcomp, our Double Black Diamond sponsor, is pleased to announce the First Annual Best of the West Snow Sports Film Competition. Designed to spotlight up and coming snowboard, ski and snow mobile athletes, the competition will be held on April 12, 2008, in Park City, Utah.
Our mission is to encourage young athletes to share their enthusiasm for snow sports with the general public in a positive and productive manner. Our goal is to provide a creative forum promoting enjoyment, safety, sportsmanship and wellness in snow sports for the athletes, their families, their friends and the community.
Original footage between three and five minutes in length, may be entered in the competition in any of the following categories:
Age group classification up to 18 years of age
- Snowboarding Category
- Skiing Category
- Snowmobiling Category
Age group classification 18 – 24 years of age
- Snowboarding Category
- Skiing Category
- Snowmobiling Category
Finalists will be selected based on voting through our website and the finalist submissions will be screened and judged by a panel of celebrity athlete judges. The six winning videos will be screened at a special event at the Egyptian Theater in Park City, UT, on April 12, 2008, where trophies, scholarships, and prizes will be presented to the winners.
A VIP Reception will be held for the winning athletes, their immediate family, our sponsors and celebrity judges immediately following the film screening at the Egyptian Theater. A limited number of tickets to this event will be offered to the public for purchase.

Cost: $12,000 or in-kind donation of goods or services
Benefits: Prominent placement on all event collateral including but not limited to: the website, media communication, printed materials, promotional items and advertising. Cost: Full sponsorship of VIP Reception – $5,000
Benefits: Prominent placement on all VIP Reception collateral including but not limited to: appropriate page(s) on website, reception invitations, reception signage, reception media communication, reception printed materials and reception program. Three-minute speaking opportunity at VIP Reception, and corporate branded table cards. Four complimentary tickets to VIP Reception and Film Screening. Cost: Sponsorship of scholarship/grant prizes - $2,500
Benefits: Placement on appropriate website pages, printed materials, promotional items, and advertising. Two complimentary tickets to VIP Reception and Film Screening.
